Cats Easter Parade - Cats with hats

Last year, we finished our Easter Parade video too late to include it on our Easter Sunday blog, so we thought you'd enjoy it today. Pawleez check ON PICTURE to access video! You'll be glad you did!

How this Easter Parade came about

So we cats decided at the last minute, we MUST see OTHER CATS WITH HATS! So we made an offer to our Facebook readers they could not refuse:  Volunteer for our Easter Parade and your Cat will get a NEW HAT.

The resulting show:

Note: We originally did our blog post a few days after Easter last year, but thought this year you'd enjoy seeing it more AHEAD of time!

We plan to join Athena and Marie's Caturday Art this weekend and the Cat on my Head's Sunday hop. Want to visit even MORE animals? Here's yer chance! Wishing all our furred friends a wonderful Easter or Passover holiday.

‪#QuirkyCountryMusicSongTitlesDay‪ Peaches and Paprika

There is a fun holiday today called "Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day.  Although our human lives in Connecticut She's from Oklahoma and couldn't resist celebrating the day.  We got to sing some of our favorite "country" songs! - Paprika the cat

I started singing ONLY to be corrected by my sisfur.

Peaches puts in her two cents worth!

Peaches couldn't resist rubbing a little salt into the wounds

This interchange made me sad and blue, remembering loves lost. But then I remembered my favorite song, "Heartaches by the Number!"

I did lay it on a little thick, remembering another country song I liked:

By now Peaches had about all she could take

She decided the only way I'd get rid of the blues was to sing a duet with me!  Happy Ending!

Our 3rd Blogoversary!

Can't believe that time has gone by and we've now reached our third Blogoversary.  Holy Cow.  We've really enjoyed it and for old time's sake would like to tell you a little more about us & for old time sakes, share our favorite pix from the past year!

From Carol:

How we started this blog:  I stumbled across The Cat on My Head's Sunday Blog Hop. It sounded wonderful...but you had to have a blog to be in it. So....since I had two feisty calicos chasing each other around the house I thought, Gotta do it! that was in March 2015.

What I like most about it:  Meeting new & old friends. I marvelous at the amazing creativity and warm hearts of so many wonderful bloggers.

What I did this past year:  Celebrated a lot more holidays that we should have (you'll see below), built up my Facebook page to where we have a nice little Facebook community. It's fun.  Made a blog book and a Facebook printed book for each  year.

Next Year: Also working on a new look for my blog. I retired this year so hope to go through the  gazillion Peaches & Paprika photos from last 5 years.

2017-18 Retrospective: Without further ado, here are my favorite pics from the past year (if you don't have time to look at them all, I'll  understand, believe me, long posts are not my usual style!

From March 2017 posts

Peaches was featured in Debra Barnes book Makin' Biscuits because of her nightly "Welcome Ceremony" of putting my hats on, so I featured quite a few Peaches with Hat pix.

And then there was getting ready for St Patrick's Day...

April

We started out April in the traditional way:

Easter came soon thereafter and as usual Paprika went into hiding!
We then did a REALLY fun Easter Parade video for our Facebook friends, giving all participants their own hat! Here is us in ours!

There were a lot of really cool April holidays after that, Earth Day and  National Arbor Day:  Peaches couldn't get enough of hugging trees, earth and what not!

I couldn't stop her, folks, she's like that!

May

A traditional start:

And the next one, Cinquo de Mayo we got to wear sunglasses!- Peaches the cat

Soon we had to say goodbye to our dear orange friend Flynn from www.twodevoncats.com. We miss him so much! - Paprika

Then Came Mother's day (we called it Kitty-Mom's Day)

June

Donuts cannot be ignored. But Peaches had to get herself entangled with a donut and Paprika, going in to save her got caught herself!

Clutses!

And then we read about Cat Domination Day also in June--need we say more?

July

There was almost an embarrassment of totally cool holidays in July:

Peaches and Paprika both vied for attention ...

As if that weren't enough, PEACH ice cream day came right on it's heels!

as if THAT weren't enough the Bloggers' Catriotic Slideshow we made came hot on its heels AND then we had our July kitchen renovation!
Badge by Ann of Zoolatry

We were NOT happy during the mid-July renovation...

Finally a really cool holiday called International Tiger day arrived where Paprika could finally strut her stuff!
slideshow just for TORTIES

August

In August we got luck and got to do a cool MEOWBOX Product Review...and it had a Camping Season theme!

Paprika is NEVER casual about catnip!

August ended with Kiss and Make Up Day! We do that all the time so we're really experienced at it!

September

Summer now almost a memory, a day at the beach was called for!

And we put together a  Slideshow JUST FOR TORTIES and some calicos! That's Melissa's Mudpie in the banner!

October

In October we got to put on our horns and carry our pitchforks!  This felt Natural to us!

AND
we put together our combo Facebook & Bloggers' scary  Black Cats Spooktacular Slideshow for Halloween...black cats only!

November

In November we celebrated the fallen leaves AND were asked to appear in Cat Vogue & Glamour Kitty publications...I had never heard of these

Paprika-Peach Pie Recipe (for real!)
We did a lot of research before thanksgiving and found this bonafide recipe which we posted!

And of course we had to wish all a happy T-Day!

December

Well the first thing we did in December was receive an amazing gift: We're the proud owner of a 2 family house! We both fit into it!
We arrived in these carriers!

And the second thing was to celebrate our Gotcha Day.  5 years we've been at Chez Carol. We've done good!  The house is a lot more comfy than those carriers we came in!

THEN we sent out Christmas cards & participated in Secret Paws!

And THEN, our human got really busy and made TWO holiday slideshows: one for our Facebook friends and another for our Blogger friends. Whew.

Would you say we need a good long rest after that?

January

The first thing to take care of in January was to finish enjoying our secret paws gifts from Friends Furever blog. A certain cat got a little carried away!

And then there was the little matter of someone trying to be a drama queen with one of the gifts,  a red & white fleece blanket.

Our human also learned from the Blogging Cats calendar published by Sweet Purrfections that Jan 21 was National Hugging Day. Sheesh we couldn't let that go by!

It seemed to snow would never end...

February

February was VERY exciting cuz we got our first job, announcing for the Super Bowl. Can you believe?  Paprika almost loused it up!

This was closely followed by Valentines Day, where we were given a pink cadillac and our human made a "love shack video" just for US!
This ├╝ber-exciting event was followed by a "Love Your Pet" day so...you can surmise the rest.

Our last creative effort for February was a total fantasy...Paprika got it in her head that we had to become tooth fairies since it was National Tooth Fairy Day. Okay so it wasn't the worst idea in the world and I did like the idea of flying and wearing a crown!

On that totally unrealistic note, we will bid you goodbye, but if you've made it this far without falling asleep we want to thank you for being our furrriends, for being supportive and kind and for giving us the opportunity to visit your cool kitties!

We're joining Cat On My Head's Sunday hop today. It's all their fault we got started blogging back in 2015...MOL...!
